What can be more satisfying than having lovely cousins for company and a sumptous jap lunch on a lazy Monday afternoon? All thanks to Kat who kindly agreed to be the chef of the day, or rather we self-invited ourselves to her place and insisted that she cooked for us. haha.

Lunch was awesome - teriyaki salmon don with miso soup + banana choc crumble. Not a fan of rice but I finished the whole big bowl of mushroom rice with onion omelette. Could hardly resist. The teriyaki salmon was grilled/peng-ed to perfection and tasted real good. The banana choc crumble was heavenly, with lots of banana and hershey's dark chocolate :)

Ingredients for lunch

Yummy mushroom rice

teriyaki salmon don with onion omelette

complete with miso soup and green tea

Absolutely appetizing

Kat's specialty - Banana Choc Crumble

Loads of banana and hershey's dark chocs!

Oli's toys brought me back to my childhood days. I wish there were more hello kitty stuff to play with then but I guess I was pretty much contented with my Barbie Dolls and Strawberry Shortcake. :)

Just my kind of thing - pink! :)

The return to innocence....

Pretty in pink except for Sam. Tsk.

Oli's just too cute for words. She's such a darling - giving kisses to her mummy and aunties as well! So affectionate, so sweet that you wouldn't even bear to be angry if she gets naughty. :)

Oli just waking up from her nap

Oli with her chou chou. haha.

lovely pic

Kat's a Hello Kitty fanatic, just like me. haha. We got her Hello Kitty kitchenware stuff for her birthday and I was so tempted to get some for myself too. Almost went crazy at the Hello Kitty shop at Novena Square cos there were just too many cute stuff. What caught my eye was the mahjong set - pink tiles, pink dice, pink chips, pink case. How cool is that! It's really really nice but too pricey - $388. Forget it.

Kat looking pleased with her pressies

Went for a karaoke session with the girls in the evening and I must say it was the most hyper karaoke session I've ever had. Sam and Mel were practically singing, jumping and dancing on the couch! Quite hilarious but it felt good that they were having so much fun.

Aspiring singers - Singapore's Twins possibly? :p

My sister commented that my last post was bimbotic. Haha.
Hmmm..let's see...shall we talk about:

"Identity politics...balkanises, promoting and obstreperous, rancorous self pity about the tyrannical majority.."

Nah, just kidding. This didn't come from me, obviously. I chanced upon this last Sat when I was reading The Straits Times about an article on gay issues. Before I could even read on, I spent a good 5 mins re-reading this line, trying to decipher what the writer meant. It just didn't make any sense to me. At that moment, it hit me that my command of English and vocabulary bank is awfully limited. I felt a little shallow. Gulp. Time to hit the books.

P/S: Noelle, I'm pretty confident you know what the 3 bombastic words mean. :)

I finally succumbed to it. I've been tempted many times but just didn't have the guts to do it. I was afraid that I would regret it one day. I didn't think that it would cause much harm. So I went for it.

Eyelash extensions that is. What did you think it was?? ;p

Yes, bye bye to short, sparse lashes and hello long, luscious lashes. Haha, quite a mouthful isn't it. Well, I must say I'm pretty satisfied with the extensions though it may seem a tad unnatural cos those who know me very well know that I don't have such long lashes! But I was assured that the touch up next week would enhance the 'natural-ness' of it and have more mascara-ed effect. Can't wait.

Pros of eyelash extensions:
1) Need not put on eyeliner
2) Need not put on mascara
3) Absolutely free of smudges
4) Cut short makeup time to less than 5 mins (just slap on powder, blush and ready to go!)
5) Make eyes look bigger and brighter
6) Enhance double eye-lids (I have hidden double eyelid on my left and single on my right)

Cons of eyelash extensions:
1) Need to be extremely careful with the extensions to prevent loosening
2) Troublesome when removing makeup and washing face
3) Spend double the time looking at the mirror to check on my lashes (not that I mind. haha)
4) Spend money lor :(

It can supposedly last for 2 to 3 months. I'm tempted to continue (Mike keeps nagging me not to) cos I totally love the idea of not having to do any eye make-up and have bigger eyes at the same time! Shall see....

Here are some pics with my new lashes...

If you have noticed by now, I tend to take pictures with my right angle facing the camera. My left side looks extremely ugly. So pardon the poses..I know they all look the same! And you can only see my right eyelashes and not my left. haha!

Facebook has indeed taken up quite abit of my time. Come to think of it, it's actually quite silly and like what Mike aptly sums up - "So bo liao and like playing ma-sak".
But I like. I've found so many of my Cedarian friends and still constantly keeping in touch with my MediaCorp colleagues through Facebook. Amazing.

Ok enough of Facebook. I haven't blogged since 3 weeks ago. I'm just gonna type whatever that comes to my mind.

My 28th birthday was spent with Mike and my family. Went for lunch at Akira Restaurant at Tiong Bahru which served ala-carte buffet. I really suck at buffets. Hate it when I feel full, having barely started. But I truly enjoyed the teppanyaki vege, squid and scallop - topped with a huge amount of fried garlic. Love it. Sis will love it too cos we are garlic freaks. :) Mike had his fill of tempura and grilled salmon. There's quite a good variety on the menu and it's a pity we don't eat raw. It would have been value for money.

Dinner with my family was at Man Fu Yuan @ Hotel Intercontinental. I was still full from lunch and could hardly stomach anymore food. We settled for a set dinner which was quite pricey I must say. Felt abit guilty for making mum spend so much on dinner! But the food was pretty good. I wished I didn't feel so full! My family was sweet enough to get a cake from the restaurant even though I told them it wasn't necessary. The cake was just as expensive!*Heartache* Good stuff though!

You know, as you grow older, you just wanna spend your birthday with your loved ones, be it just a simple dinner. Gone are the days where you plan birthday celebrations with different groups of friends, clubbing, drinking etc. I'm happy with how my birthday was spent. Thanks Popo, Dad, Mum, Sis, Mark and Mike. Heart all. :)

Still on food - I finally found my favourite salad dish! It's called Soba noodle salad. Chanced upon it at Brewerkz last Fri. Though it's a tad expensive ($18.99!) but I think it tastes awesome! Ingredients: Greens, soba noodles, grilled teriyaki chicken with Asian vinaigrette. Though there's abit of carbo in it, but I would say this is a very well-balanced dish and perfect for a weight-watcher. It comes in a really huge bowl, enough for two. But I think I can finish it all by myself! I wouldn't mind eating this everyday man. It's the tastiest salad I've ever eaten - the vinaigrette is the ultimate! But can it not be so expensive??

Stepped into Lunar for the first time two Fridays back to catch a special showcase by William So, aka Hong. Hong aside first. Lunar is extremeeeeely cheeeeeena! To the core. The place was filled with uncles, cheenas and more cheenas. Not that I have anything against cheenas but erm, I guess Lunar just isn't the place for me. The last straw came when this male performer came on stage to sing you know what? Dong Tian Li De Yi Ba Huo by Gao Ling Feng. And while he was singing, there were actually flames of fire as props to his song. O.M.G. So tacky can! I was almost going dizzy from rolling my eyes! Yes, it was that bad....for me at least. haha. But Hong redeemed it all. It has been a long time since I watched him sing 'live' and he's still an excellent singer as ever. And he actually recognised my sis and pointed at her! So sweet. :) Am hoping to go for his concert in HK next year!

Ok lah am running late for my body massage. Shall continue my post tonight.

If I'm not feeling lazy....
