Today marks my first day at work in Bugis Street Development Pte Ltd as Marketing & Communications Mgr. To be honest, I could feel the stress creeping up on me by the end of the day. I guess this is not the place for anyone to take it slow and you've really got to step up to the game or else you'll miss the opportunity to shine and show what you are worth.
Summary of my first day:
realised that they hired a MarCom Exec as well and it was her first day at work too
my Snr Mgr seems like a nice guy. Pretty approachable, no airs at all but not to be messed with as well. Seems protective of his MarCom dept which may be a good thing
was told that i would be travelling once in a while. The MarCom team went Tokyo, Korea and London before. I also want!!
given a pretty decent cubicle and laptop. How I wish it's the pink Vaio! :(
introduced to the directors whom I heard are not an easy bunch to deal with. Yikes.
treated to Jap lunch by Snr Mgr (had nothing of this sort in my previous 2 employments. tsk)
colleagues are generally ok. think it's abit too early to tell though.
took a tour around the whole of bugis street and my eyes couldn't stop looking at the clothes and shoes! haha. maybe can shop during lunch time. :)
tasked to do a proposal for STB and first draft to be submitted on Wed. Sheesh.
More challenging tasks ahead. Wish me luck.
