It was a night of tears, heartache and more tears. I was pretty affected while watching the Si Chuan Earthquake Charity show last night and couldn't stop tearing. Videos of children buried under the rubble with only small little lifeless hands to be seen, bruised and shaken kids who are lucky to have survived, mothers calling out names of their children in hope of finding them and parents wailing next to their motionless child.

Heartwrenching indeed.

I did my little part by calling the donation hotline, only to know today that each call was subjected to a 20-cent administrative charge and 7% GST. Unbelievable. Just what is wrong with these people! It is a charity show for goodness sake. If they are donating these charges to the charity as well I'd have no qualms about it. Bloodsuckers.

On to a lighter note. Got my Samsung Soul about two weeks back, thanks to Mike's third sis who was kind enough to let me get the phone at $0 using her Singtel line. It's a really cool phone and i can't stop fiddling with it. I can actually change the colour of the touch screen pad, create my own wallpaper theme, edit my pictures etc. Nice! Some pictures taken with my Soul...

Last week was horrifying. My healthy diet was totally ruined.I SO overate. I think I put on the kgs I lost. Dammit. Or maybe I'm being paranoid.

My overeating account:

8 May
Melben @ AMK

Celebrated Mike's birthday a day earlier with my family. Had big juicy Sri Lanka chilli crabs, fried mantou, crab bee hoon, fried tofu, kangkong and playboy chicken. Yes, they call it playboy chicken when it is actually just chicken in Thai sauce. Felt abit of indigestion after the dinner.

9 May
Lunch: The Line @ Shangri-La
Dinner: Sun with Moon Dining @ Central

Mike's actual birthday. Took half day off and treated him to buffet at The Line, knowing well that it might be money down the drain as we both kinda suck at buffets cos we get full very fast! Nvm that, we wanted to see for ourselves how fantastic the buffet spread is. Granted, there were many different cuisine counters, fresh scallops, cook-on-the-spot pasta, dim sum, tandoori and a delightful spread of desserts. But somehow, there just wasn't anything that big a deal for us to rave about. We stuffed ourselves silly with the desserts cos they were just too pretty not to try! Overall, it's a nice try. Doubt we'll pay a second visit cos for that kind of price, we can have almost 40 plates of chicken rice.

As if lunch wasn't sinful enough, went for dinner at Jap restaurant - Sun with Moon Dining at Central with XJ and JJ. We were still pretty full from lunch, so we ordered dishes to share plus a bottle of red wine. Had to restrain myself from eating too much but temptation was just too great, esp the Kimchi hotpot. Heavenly. I can just eat that for dinner everyday. It's a must try!

Headed to Haagen Daz @ Clarke Quay for ice cream. By then, I was feeling a little disgusted with myself and was determined to workout for at least 2 hours the next day. Anyways, the servers at Haagen Daz were very sweet. They sang Mike a birthday song and volunteered to take photos for us. Think I saw Mike blush. muahahah. The day ended with my jeans almost bursting at the seams.

10 May
Dinner: Newton Food Centre

True to my words, I went for a 2 hour workout session at Amore on Sat and left the place with aching arms and legs. At least I was feeling less guilty. BUT it was short-lived. Went for dinner at Newton and had a share of stingray, fishball soup and a grilled chicken wing. Dammit!

11 May
Lunch: Peach Garden @ Thomson Plaza
Dinner: Zi Char @ Jurong

Mothers' Day! Went for dim sum lunch with my family and my sister's in laws. Besides dim sum, there were also other ala carte dishes which fortunately consisted of a balanced mix of vege and meat. Of course I poked mostly at the vege. heh. By then, I felt really fat and bloated. I told myself I'm just gonna eat very minimal during dinner.

And of course that never happened. wth. Cos the food was pretty good! Tucked away in a corner under a HDB flat, this Malay stall actually serves very good Zi Char food. 8 dishes for just $128. Cheap! The Buffalo Wings-taste-alike was really finger-licking good and the spicy gravy on the fish was superb. You don't know how frigging guilty I felt after that.

I'm actually happy it's the start of the week again. It means back to my salad lunches, light dinners and amore workouts. Awesome.

Had complimentary tickets to Boat Asia 2008 last Sat, thanks to XJ and JJ's Audi invite. Held at Marina at Keppel Bay, it was Asia's leading leisure boat and luxury waterfront lifestyle event, showcasing the latest sailing yachts, powerboats, super yachts and luxury lifestyle products. We had no reason to be there, cos it's not like we are gonna buy boats. But oh well, what the heck, free tickets so why not. It was attended by mostly expats and the rich, who can afford to lead such luxurious lives. Oh and we spotted the Audi R8! Pretty awesome. The headlights are like diamantes! I like. haha. Anyway, we shamelessly spent the whole time camwhoring with the boats. duh.

Caught the movie premiere of Iron Man on Tue. Complimentary tickets again, courtesy of Mediacorp. It was not fantastic but it wasn't that bad either. There were moments where I thought it was pretty ridiculous but on the whole i think Robert Downey Jr did a good job. Not exactly my kind of cute but can do lah. haha. Gwyneth Paltrow's role was a pretty minor one though. Oh oh and Robert Downey Jr was driving the Audi R8 in the movie. Damn chio. Was just flipping the newspapers yesterday and there was this ad about winning the Audi R8 by using some credit card. I want! The car needs a gorgeous owner. like me. muahahahah!
