A comfy and cosy cubicle is what I need to keep me motivated at work. Ok, not really motivated but it keeps me happy a little. Plain, boring cubes are a no-no for me. I used to put up tons of pictures on the office wall and colleagues will come by to scrutinize them. Haha. Music is a must too. I simply cannot work in an office that is menacingly quiet. I hate silence. So you could imagine how excited I was on my first day at work in MediaCorp a few years back. A personal TV, VCD/DVD player and cupboard full of tapes, DVDs and CDs in my cube. Watching dramas, movies, reality shows while at work. How nice. Life at work was wonderful then, minus the horrible politics.

Back to my cubicle,
I got really bored in the office one day and started snapping away.

my pink corner. :)

soft toys given to me by my colleague shirley who wastes
her money catching such stuff at the arcade. haha.

basket of snacks. mostly coffee!

getting all dusty!

so...too cutesy for your liking? ;)

I have finally started working on it. Still a long way to go I must say. But at least I've stopped procrastinating. Can't wait for everything to fall in place and see if it works. I'm excited.

Spent Saturday checking out the much hyped-about ION Orchard. The mall is pretty huge, brands were plentiful and there's this 'smell' about it that kind of made me feel like I was in States/Europe. The LV flagship store is pretty decent and I spot ladies buying bags like its dirt cheap. Prada's not opened yet but Miu Miu is. And guess what. Mike actually said that he would wanna get a Miu Miu for me. My heart skipped a bit. I was like really?? Haha. The designs are not as nice as those I've seen in Berlin and I don't think it's worth buying in Singapore anyway. Just as I'm writing this, Mike glanced at my screen and commented: I just say say only what. What?! Wth. I don't care. Not Miu Miu, fine. Prada then. Haha.

There's plenty of eateries at ION too. The food court is so nicely decorated with chandeliers that you would think it's a restaurant. But don't expect the price to be that cheap. Oh and there's Provence too! No need to travel all the way to Holland V to get the popular chocolate wassant. Not exactly cheap but they are just too irresistable! Fans of Ling Zhi Yuan bak kwa can also satisfy their cravings without having to trot down to Chinatown.

I think ION will do well. Orchard Central seem to pale in comparison. But both cater to different target audience I guess. Paragon will need to do more to retain its shoppers as most of the flagship stores are at ION.

I should be worrying about Bugis Street.

I survived. The 5km Shape Run that is. Quite disappointed with my timing though. Could have done better if I had not walked for 5 mins after the waterpoint. Didn't want to risk throwing up like one girl did. Surprisingly, I felt that this was a better run for me as compared to the previous two years. I was able to maintain a good momentum for the first 3km but slowed down thereafter. My stamina needs more work seriously. Targetting for a better timing next year!

I'm addicted.

Addiction no #1: Blogshops
All thanks to my sis and her friend Queenie, I'm now hooked on online shopping. It has been a daily affair checking out the blogshops and making sure new launches are not missed. But it's not like I buy every single nice piece I see. There are times when I see similiar designs at Bugis Street and cheaper! That is why I still insist that Bugis Street is the best place to shop in. I've been buying really nice tops and dresses for only $10! It's your loss if you don't shop at Bugis Street. Haha.

Addiction no #2: Bejweled Blitz
Ok I know this is lame, but it's really addictive! Initially I was laughing at my mum for spending so much time on FB playing BB, but now I know why she couldn't stop. Mum, Mike and myself spent the whole of last night clicking furiously!

Addiction no #3: Polka dots
I'm really nuts about polka dots. The recent 3 new pieces of clothes I bought are all in polka dots. And I spent almost an hour in Daiso last week buying unecessary stuff, just because they are in polka dots! I don't forsee this addiction to be gone so soon...
So, what's your addiction?

My very first NDP ended up with a few firsts.

First NDP show (though it's a preview) in my 29 years
First pink bag that can be used as a sling or a tote (ok lame)
First reciting of pledge in the rain
First viewing of fireworks in the pouring rain
First time seeing DPM Teo Chee Hean standing in the rain, drenched and not fidgeting one bit.

It just had to pour just minutes before the parade ended. Nobody could enjoy the fireworks as everyone was scrambling to dig out ponchos and umbrellas. It truly was a sight.

An unforgettable one indeed.

It has been a while since I tossed and turned in bed, almost succumbing to counting sheeps. Had a terrible headache and tried to sleep at 11pm which was way too early from my usual bedtime. Huge mistake. Laid in bed wide awake.

Tossed. Turned. Tossed. Turned.

And just when I finally managed to drift into sleepyland, my phone beeped. At 3.15am. Wth. And the message caused me to be wide awake again. Just what is wrong with youngsters nowadays? Where's the sense of responsibility? No explanation, no nothing. Just that few words and a sorry. Disappointed totally.

Yesterday was grandma's death anniversary. Reading the comments on FB got me touched and made me realise how much we all miss her. Those moments are still deeply etched in my mind. We miss u mama!

Shape Run this Sunday. I am so not prepared. Feel so unfit and my stamina has dropped gazillion levels. I will be happy if I can finish the 5km without feeling faint and having side stitches. Wish me luck.

It is always heartwarming to see people coming together, united and strong for a common cause. And this video aptly depicts how the MJ legend is living on. And I'm touched.

I think MJ will be too.

A tearful scene was what I had expected. And indeed it was. Tears flowed freely, hugs tight and heartfelt, murmurs of blessings echoed as we bade farewell to Jerry, Kat and Oli. Felt a lump in my throat when I saw innocent Oli looking bewildered when she saw us crying and not knowing what was happening. So gonna miss her. Till we meet again, in London perhaps. Am hoping I get to go for my biz trip in Nov.

On to happier things. Had a family outing at Sentosa which was pretty fun, especially the skyride which got me trembling a little. It's been ages since Dad & Mum stepped foot onto Sentosa, and I think they had fun. We need not have to fork out a single cent, which was great! Would probably head to the Zoo, Night Safari or River Cruise next.

What's a weekend without drinks? We had our fix at Durty Nelly's on Fri with JJ & XJ. We probably had the most sinful dinner ever. The most amazing Chicken Drumlets, Home-made Spring Rolls with Green Chilli, Chicken wrapped with Bacon, Shephard's Pie and Beef Burger, topped with Heineken and Strongbow Cider. Hence, the guilt-ridden us decided to have a game of badminton next Fri instead of our usual weekend indulgence. It's about time!

Our lazy bones decided not to be lazy anymore and we went for a jog this morning. We have been putting on weight after our wedding and I can't help but look back at my wedding photos and whine. Why aren't ALL females blessed with super slim and toned arms and thighs? It sucks when I can't wear short dresses and shorts!

Do I have to return to my salad diet again? :(

And why is it that I can't upload photos??
